it is 1922. Virgil Kaylock is at the start of an extraordinary journey. He is an optimistic young man eager to make his way in the world. But before long he realises that his life is not governed by his own choices. Creatures of darkness seem to be forcing themselves into his story. To survive he must destroy the supernatural horrors and confront his own feelings of inadequacy and fear. It is a journey that will lead him to the North Yorkshire Moors, a cursed sailing ship, The Hellfire caves and to the sinister truth that reveals his destiny.
